What path have you taken?** I started off in consulting, and after 18+ years, I wanted to put into practice all of the advice I had given over the years to CIOs and IT leaders. In 2014, I left consulting for Kimberly Clark Healthcare/Halyard Health but found my passion for home health and have stayed there ever since. Enabling care in the home allows people to recover quicker with less infection in the place they live. ##### **Has it always been your vision to reach the position you’re at? Was your current role part of your vision to become a tech leader?** Yes, after years of providing advice my goal was always to eventually put that advice into action for myself. ##### **Have you had a role model or mentor that has helped you on your journey?** Many years ago, I worked for Ritz Carlton Hotels and met my mentor, Tom Lynch. Tom told me that I could work in a Ritz or stay in a Ritz but they were diverging paths. ##### **How do you see the role of the technology leader evolving over the next 5 years?** I believe that technology will get more personal and help to predict heath outcomes. I believe that it will also allow clinicians and healthcare professionals to better understand conditions, and the factors that change conditions can be seen more clearly to better and prolong lives. Focus on the financials and empower your team to make decisions. ##### **Is there anything in particular that you would still like to achieve in your career or what is the next step on your journey?** As long as I am growing and evolving as a leader, I feel content in my role and its impact. ##### **If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?** I would like for people to focus on the long term instead of immediate gratification.
